Company Overview
The Howard S. Wright Companies provide professional construction services in the areas of commercial, institutional and industrial building. They operate from seven offices throughout the western United States. Each office functions as an independent business unit following the principles of a unified corporate vision. One of the Howard S. Wright companies, Howard S. Wright Construction Co., was founded in 1885, making it one of the oldest operating contractors on the west coast.

Opportunity
The needs of the client can be viewed as two overlapping areas. To begin with, because of the sheer volume and complexity of projects and the increasingly complicated communication needs of subsidiaries and 3rd party companies, it was determined that a set of process and documentation standards were required to ensure consistency and to uphold the expected level of quality and value.

In addition, the current project process needed to be standardized and simplified. Increasingly conflict has risen over the administrative staff’s need for thorough documentation and the project team’s need for more flexibility. The creation of a centralized system would uphold HSW Enterprises’ quality standards while providing enough flexibility for project teams to enter project information and accomplish process tasks without conforming to a ridged set of rules.
Proposed::
In addition, paperwork processes needed to be simplified. Our challenge was to create a flexible system that would satisfy the project teams. This system would also need to be thorough enough to satisfy the administrative staff’s need for meticulous documentation. Overall, it would have to be user friendly so each employee could find information about a project when needed.
Solution
Swipht partnered with the Howard S. Wright companies to plan, design and build an iterative development strategy for the WrightTrack (Project Management) service. In addition, Swipht leveraged its expertise with the .NET platform to help define and build a framework, forms management, and project management service while also providing creative direction and development.
Implementation of the WrightTrack System will greatly assist these companies in meeting their business goals. The system offers a unified method comprised of modular applications that provide services and tools for each aspect of the companies.

The Results of the Project has accomplished:

- Allows non-technical project members to enter project information and accomplish process tasks.
- Reduction of the overall cost of managing projects over the long-term by reducing replica data entry.
- Allows non-technical employees to set up and manage project teams, information, and process tasks.
- Allows non-technical administrative staff to audit authorized project tasks and information.
- Allows site administrators and business users to view real-time reports dealing with project status, scope and project contributors.
- Reinforces the corporate policies and process with minimal administrative oversight
